| Omodhos is the idyllic place of walks, leisurely picnics and fascinating
contemplation of nature, not forgetting of course, a short drive to the nearby beach.
Guests staying in Omodhos are welcome to join in all the local activities, such as wine,
"zivania" (a high alcohol content distilled spirit made from grapes) and |

making, grape gathering and the making of local delicacies namely "soutshouko"
and "palouze" (made with grape juice and almond nuts), "halloumi"
(cheese) and "trahana" (made with wheat and sour milk). You can also take
part in the wine festival, held in the village every August, and there is a large
religious fair on September 14th. Christenings are a frequent event in Monasteries
and are worth a visit, as everyone is welcome to attend one of the ceremonies. |
